A snow adventure
The winter week in Jeris is ideal for adventurous couples, families, or individual guests looking for active holiday in the snow, in the beautiful surroundings of Lappish nature. Meet the cute Husky-dogs, hop on to the sled pulled by reindeer, experience the exciting snowmobile driving or stay at the hotel surroundings ice-fishing, snowshoe walking, building a snowman or tobogganing. Hotel Jeris is beautifully located in the Lappish nature, next to the lake Jerisjärvi, right by the Pallas-Ylläs national park. The hotel is only 45 minutes drive from the Kittilä Airport. Accommodation is in cosy log cabins for 2-7 persons with own sauna, wc, shower, kitchen, fireplace and TV. The log cabins are situated close to the hotel. The Jeris Spa, sauna and pool area, with 2 small warm pools, smoke sauna and electric saunas are also situated nearby the hotel.

Day 1 -
Arrive at Kittila
|
Arrival at Kittilä airport, transfer to Hotel Jeris (45min). Meet and greet with the safari group and your guide. Information about the programme for the week. Dinner will be served in hotel restaurant. Overnight in cosy log cabins close to hotel Jeris.

Day 2 -
Visit Reindeer Farm
|
Breakfast in hotel restaurant. Transfer by bus to the reindeer farm (around 10 minutes drive). You will be presented the old Lapland manor, where the reindeer herding family has lived since 19th century. There is also a small museum with reindeer herding equipment and a short slide show telling about the life of the reindeer. After this we go and visit the reindeer in the fence and go for a short safari in the reindeer sled (3 km). You will also have a chance to try your reindeer herder skills in “lasso-throwing”. The lunch will be served in a “teepee-kota” by an open fire. Bus transfer back to the hotel. In the afternoon you will have time for snow activities in the hotel area, such as tobogganing, snow shoe walking or cross-country skiing. Dinner in the hotel restaurant and overnight in cabin.

Day 3 -
Cross Country Skiing
|
This day will be dedicated to cross-country skiing and snowshoe walking. The skiing tracks start nearby the hotel and you will learn the basics of cross-country skiing with your guide. Lunch in the hotel restaurant. After lunch we will go for a short snow-shoe tour close to the hotel. Return to the hotel and time to enjoy warm sauna. Dinner in the hotel restaurant. Overnight in cabin.

Day 4 -
Day Free
|
This day is free for your own activities. You can go cross-country skiing or for a snow-shoe tour or just relax. All meals will be served in hotel restaurant. Overnight in cabin.

Day 5 -
Snowmobile
|
Your experienced guide will show you how to drive the snowmobile and give you the safety information. Then you will start the snowmobile safari 30 kms (2 persons per snowmobile). A picnic lunch will be served during the safari by campfire and we will also stop for ice-fishing. Duration of the safari is approx. 3 hours. After returning to hotel free time for own activities. Dinner in hotel restaurant and overnight in cabin.

Day 6 -
Dog Sledding
|
After breakfast a short transfer to the husky farm nearby. After arrival to the huskyfarm you will hear about the life of the sleddogs on the arctic areas and get acquainted with the happy dogs. You will be taught how to handle the sled and then you start the 2-hour husky safari - 2 persons / dog team. During the safari you stop for a picnic lunch by campfire. Todays driving distance is approx 17 kms. Return to hotel. Free time for own activities. Farewell dinner with lapp specialities will be served in hotel restaurant. Overnight in cabin.

Depart for the flight home
