Day 1 -
Arrival Day

Arriving at Kajaani Airport in the afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive to the Hotel Kalevala which lies 3km away from the town of Kuhmo. Settle into the relaxed pace of a fishing holiday in Finland and take some time to admire the peaceful surroundings or perhaps have a stroll along the lakeside. This evening, tuck into a hearty dinner prepared with fresh local ingredients.

Day 2 -
Fishing Trip to the River Pajakkajoki

After breakfast, begin your fishing holiday in Finland with a scenic boat ride from right outside the hotel, crossing the lake towards the River Pajakkajoki. Locate a good spot on the riverbank and see what catches you can land. After a picnic lunch, the tour continues to two more rivers with excellent fishing on both, before heading back to the Hotel Kalevala in time for dinner.

Day 3 -
Fishing Trip to Rapid Lentuankoski

After a leisurely morning, join the tour to the Lentuankoski Rapids which connect two magnificent lakes. Fishing rapids is a skill, and a guide is on hand to give helpful pointers should you require them. A picnic lunch is provided by a campfire during your afternoon’s fishing. Round off day three of your fishing holiday in Finland with a relaxing sauna and a delicious meal eaten outdoors by a fire at the hotel.

Day 4 -
Spinning Rods or Nets

This morning, board the boat that will be waiting on the shore besides the hotel and sail east across the lake, using either spinning rods or nets to make a catch. Enjoy a picnic at lunchtime on a peaceful island. If you have been lucky this morning, you could even cook your catch on the campfire. Returning to the hotel, enjoy a final meal in the restaurant before relaxing on the final evening of your fishing holiday in Finland.

Departure

Enjoy some leisure time this morning – you could even squeeze in another hour or two of fishing. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
