Deep in the heart of Finnish Lapland, close to the Pallas-Ylläs National Park, the Harriniva Holiday Centre invites its guests to share in its stunningly beautiful surroundings on this incredible winter adventure week. Embraced by snow-coated fells and forests, the picturesque region is a vast playground for thrill-seekers. This action-packed winter adventure week provides you with opportunities many have only ever dreamed of; snowmobiling over frosty landscapes, reindeer sleigh rides and an overnight dog sled safari to a remote wilderness hut. The hotel offers a variety of stylish safari rooms for guests and a one night stay in a wilderness hut that lets you get a real taste of the Arctic. You will enjoy full board accommodation on your winter adventure week and appropriate clothing for all outdoor pursuits will be provided. You also have free use of either cross country skis or snowshoes for a full day.
During your winter adventure week at Harriniva, the imminent Northern Lights make your stay even more exciting. Located above the Arctic Circle, Harriniva offers increased chances of witnessing these humbling wonders that paint the northern skies in pastel hues. All drivers of a snowmobile must have a fully valid driving licence in order to take part in the tour.

Day 1 -
Flight to Kittilä Airport

Transfer from the airport to Harriniva Holiday centre where the rest of your safari group awaits and your guide provides you with the information needed for your winter adventure week. Enjoy an evening meal in the hotel restaurant.

Day 2 -
Reindeer Safari
|
Visit a local reindeer farm on your winter adventure week where you will be introduced to these remarkable creatures that have been part of Finnish culture for centuries. Learn how to lasso the reindeer and help to harness them ready for your two hour safari through the peaceful forest. Stop for lunch by an open fire along the way. Later, return to the hotel.

Day 3 -
Snowmobile Trip
|
Snowmobiling is great fun for drivers of all abilities on this winter adventure week, as you will be given all the directions needed by an experienced guide before you set off. This exhilarating journey lasts for approximately five hours and lets you discover Finland’s breathtaking wilderness in style. Break for lunch and warm up around a campfire before continuing the safari back to the hotel.

Day 4 -
Leisure Day
|
Today on your winter adventure week you can indulge in some leisure time. Choose from cross country skiing or snowshoeing and if you want to find some souvenirs of your holiday, perhaps spend some time browsing the shops.

Day 5 -
Husky Safari
|
Fill up on a hearty breakfast before setting off to meet your pack of huskies that will be your leaders for today’s safari. Learn the skills needed for steering the dog sled and embark on an incredible two-day adventure. Upon reaching the wilderness hut later in the day, relax in a hot sauna and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 -
Husky Safari
|
Your winter adventure week continues with the second day of the dog sled safari. Before you arrive back at the Harriniva Holiday centre in the afternoon, enjoy lunch by an open fire. In the evening, warm up in a sauna then take pleasure in some of the Lappish specialities at the farewell party.
