Snowmobile and Husky Safari

Snowshoe Hiking
Learn how to master the art of snowshoeing on your winter activity break as you hike through deep snow over the hilltop of Iso-Syöte. You will be greeted with phenomenal views of the surrounding frozen countryside that is adorned with beautiful snow sculptures clinging to the branches of trees. Stop for hot drinks and cookies during the 2 hour trek and absorb the breathtaking panoramas that are so familiar on a winter activity break in Finnish Lapland.
Ice Fishing
Master the art of this customary method of fishing which has been used for many years in Finland. During this winter activity break you can transfer to a nearby frozen lake where you will have the opportunity to drill your own holes into the ice and gently lower the line. Unwind amid a winter wonderland as you sit and wait for a catch before enjoying coffee around an open fire.
Northern Lights Safari
A Finnish winter activity break during the winter months is the perfect time to go in search of the elusive phenomena, the Northern Lights. This spectacular light show can often be seen against the inky backdrop of Arctic skies. Although sightings cannot be guaranteed, there is no better way of tracking them down than on an exhilarating night time snowmobile safari. Clear conditions that are undisturbed by artificial lights are preferable for seeing the lights on this winter activity break. Warm yourself around a crackling fire as you sip coffee and marvel at the starry canvas which envelops you.

Hotel Iso-Syöte
Ideally located on top of a 1,400 foot fell, this friendly and relaxed hotel offers fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding area and easy access to the adjacent slopes. All 30 double rooms offer private facilities and satellite TV with non-smoking and allergy rooms available. After a day’s winter activities the swimming pool and saunas are great places to relax. The main restaurant offers excellent meals and dance music. There is also a pleasant lounge bar and a small nightclub.
Cabins
A very popular choice is to stay in one of the hotel’s traditional rustic cabins located 300 yards from the main building. Built from silver pine logs, these cosy cabins are usually covered in snow during winter creating a true picture postcard atmosphere for an authentic Lapland experience. The cabins sleep up to four people with a double bedroom, living room with sofa beds and open fireplace, sauna, shower, toilet, porch and kitchen with crockery, refrigerator, coffee maker and oven. Guests can use all the facilities of the hotel.
