Day 1 -
Arrival in Finnish Lapland

On arrival, transfer from Ivalo airport to the Lapland Igloo Village in Kakslauttanen. After dinner at the village restaurant, spend the evening relaxing and exploring the spectacular snow igloos and ice chapel or enjoy a drink in the ice bar. There is a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights on holidays in Lapland as you are above the Arctic Circle, although we can't guarantee sightings, be sure to keep you eyes on the sky for the mesmerising phenomena. Spend your first night is in a log cabin which has private facilities - a kitchenette, a fireplace and a private sauna.

Day 2 -
Dog Sledding on Northern Lights Holidays

This morning, enjoy a buffet breakfast in the beautiful log restaurant which is located within walking distance of your accommodation on Northern Lights holidays. Afterwards, dress warmly before meeting the team of friendly husky dogs which will be eager to take you on a dog sled adventure. These northern dogs are perfectly suited to harsh Arctic conditions and enjoy pulling the sledge to their hearts’ content. The duration of the excursion is around 4 hours, afterwards we suggest warming up in your private sauna. In the evening of your Northern Lights holidays, enjoy dinner at the village restaurant before spending the rest of the night at your leisure. Overnight stay in your log cabin.

Day 3 -
Reindeer Excursion

After breakfast enjoy an excursion to a local reindeer farm where you will learn about the culture and lifestyle of the indigenous Sami people. You also have a chance to ride in a reindeer sledge. This excursion lasts around 4 hours, when you return enjoy some free time before dinner. Maybe tonight there will be a display of the Northern Lights on holidays in Lapland, be sure to search the sky for dazzling curtains of pink, green and yellow light. Overnight stay in your log cabin.

Day 4 -
A Night in a Glass or Snow Igloo
|
Today is a day of leisure on Northern Lights holidays, relax and enjoy the beautiful, peaceful settings of Lapland, you may want to try cross-country skiing or ice-fishing. There is a real Arctic, yet perfectly comfortable experience instore for you tonight as you have the rare opportunity to sleep in an igloo made of snow. You will receive instructions from a member of staff on staying warm during the night. The temperature inside the igloo varies between -3 and -6 degrees centigrade, but the padded sleeping bags and insulating reindeer hides will keep you warm even at much lower temperatures. There are also several heated glass igloos available which offer panoramic views of the Northern Lights on holidays. Lapland is in a very good location for displays of the Aurora Borealis, although there is no guarantee that you will see them during your stay, as they are naturally occurring and unpredictable phenomena. Your log cabin is also at your disposal should you prefer not to stay all night in the igloo on Northern Lights holidays. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 -
Departure from the Lapland Igloo Village
|
Transfer from the Lapland Igloo Village by the hotel’s shuttle bus to Ivalo airport for the flight back to London once Northern Lights holidays conclude.
