On this family adventure holiday in Lapland you will explore the snow covered peaks and fells of Salla on a thrilling husky safari and take part in other activities such as reindeer sledding and skiing. Lapland is the ideal location for an exhilarating winter adventure holiday in an authentic wilderness setting. Your family will be able to bond whilst having picnics over an open fire in the in the middle of ancient snow-covered forests where you can really appreciate the beauty of Lapland’s magnificent landscape.

Day 1 - Arrive at Salla

Upon arrival at Kuusamo airport, transfer to your accommodation at the cosy Hotel Revontuli.

Day 2 - Traditional forest skis

Following breakfast you will travel by traditional forest skis for approx 4-5 hours for a visit to the Salla Reindeer Park where you will enjoy reindeer herding and a picnic in the snow along with other wilderness activities.

Day 3 - Snow shoe day

Following breakfast, transfer to the Salla Reindeer Park where the adventure begins. Learn and enjoy the traditional way of walking in the snow – with snowshoes! This is a great way to explore the snow- covered Lappish landscape and its lots of fun. You will get the chance to experience light snowshoe trekking and to learn some basic wilderness skills, go ice fishing and have a forest picnic.

Day 4 - Reindeer Safari

After breakfast, enjoy a 5-6 hour reindeer safari with a picnic in the forest. Learn to throw a Lasso and feed your reindeer.

Day 5 - Husky Safari

The friendly huskies will take you through the beautiful Lappish landscape of snow covered forest, magnificent marshlands and spacious, silent scenery. Each sleigh will be pulled by four to eight dogs depending on the weather conditions and the length of the drive. There are two persons per sleigh – one, the Captain, standing on the runners and steers the sleigh while the other person is tucked comfortably in the sleigh bag. During the many stops en-route you will get a chance to swap places.

Days 6 to 7 - Relax and enjoy the Spa

Enjoy the brand new Spa which consists of four different pools and two spacious saunas. The spa has a warm relaxing atmosphere with big panorama windows for a spectular view of the snow covered landscape.

Day 8 - Departing Salla

After breakfast transfer to Kuusamo airport for your return flight to the UK. Or perhaps stay a few more days in Salla for a bit of skiing or snowmobiling?
