Day 1 -
Depart London Heathrow - Arrive Reykjavik

On arrival at Keflavik Airport, transfer to the Hotel Reykjavik Centrum for overnight bed and breakfast.

Day 2 -
Reykjavík-Gullfoss-Geysir-Skaftafell
|
After breakfast, you will be picked up from the Hotel Reykjavik for your tour. The day starts with a drive to the famous Geysir and the Queen of Iceland´s waterfalls, Gullfoss. You will then travel through the sandy desert of the south coast, overlooked by mountainous cliffs and waterfalls. The next two nights are spent near Skaftafell National Park.

Day 3 -
Walking in Skaftafell
|
The whole day is spent walking in Skaftafell.

Day 4 -
Skaftafell-Fljótsdalshérað
|
We drive south of Vatnajökull, Europe's biggest glacier that dominates the landscape with its glacial tongues calving into a glacial lagoon. We take a boat trip on Jökulsárlón lagoon among the icebergs.Continuing through the beautiful Eastern fjords. Overnight for the next 2 nights is in the neighbourhood of Egilsstaðir town.

Day 5 -
Walking Through Viking Trails
|
A full day walking in the beautiful Eastern mountains.

Day 6 -
Fljótsdalshérað-Askja-Herðubreiðarlindir-Mývatn area
|
Today we travel through the uninhabited highlands to Askja caldera. Askja is the caldera left when a volcano collapsed into itself. Inside the caldera is Iceland's deepest lake Öskjuvatn and beside the lake explosion crater Víti. We travel through Herðubreiðarlindir nature reserve, before reaching our accommodation for the next 3 nights in the Mývatn area.

Day 7 -
WHALE WATCHING - LAKE MÝVATN AREA
|
We start the day with a 3 hours whale watching cruise, weather permitting, from the picturesque village of Húsavík. A short drive to Lake Mývatn, a unique area that features strange lava formations, attractive bays, pseudo craters and thousands of birds. We stroll through the lave field of Dimmuborgir, ending with a walk up to the rim of the asah crater Hverfjall

Day 8 -
Hljóðaklettar-Dettifoss-Ásbyrgi
|
Today we visit Hljóðaklettar with its strange formations and the magnificent and puzzling canyon Ásbyrgi, said to be a hoof print of the eight legged horse of the ancient God Óðinn. We walk along the west bank of the mighty Jökulsá River, and not far upstream is Europe's most powerful waterfall Dettifoss.

Day 9 -
Lake Mývatn area-Hella
|
South across the highland desert of Sprengisandur, with its views of the ice caps Vatnajkull and Hofsjökull to Nýicalur. From there we continue south through Sprengisandur to our accommodation in the south.

Day 10 -
Landmannalaugar
|
The entire day is spent walking in and around spectacular Landmannalaugar, one of Iceland’s outstanding scenic highlights.

Day 11 -
Þingvellir - Reykjavík
|
Today we visit the historic sites of the first Icelandic Parliament at Þingvellir National Park where we enjoy the last walks of our tour before returning to Reykjavík. Overnight bed and breakfast at the Hotel Reykjavík Centrum in the city centre.
