Accommodation during your husky musher holiday is at the friendly, family-run Harriniva Holiday Centre in Muonio, in the province of Lapland. Hearty breakfasts set you up for a day outdoors, and homemade dinners welcome you back with the allure of an evening sauna to warm up.
Day 1 -
Arrive in Finland

A transfer from Kittilä airport lets you see some of the beautiful Finnish countryside as you make your way to the Harriniva Holiday Centre to begin your husky musher holiday. After checking into your room, head to the dining room to enjoy some freshly prepared Finnish cuisine. In the evening you are free to use the saunas.

Days 2 to 4 -
Learn to be a Husky Musher

This morning there is an induction to your husky musher holiday delivered by your guides. Equipment for the week is handed out, including thermal overalls, boots, socks, hat, gloves and a sleeping bag. Begin your dog mushing tuition by meeting the huskies and their trainers. Over the next few days you will work with your team of dogs, learning how to feed them and care for them as a husky musher, and practice controlling them as they pull the sled.

Days 5 to 6 -
Dog Mushing on an Overnight Husky Safari

After a hearty breakfast, collect your equipment and meet your excited team of huskies. Prepare the sled ready and experience the life of a husky musher. Heading out into the icy wilderness, absorb the beauty of your surroundings as you speed across the snow and ice. Frequent stops are made for hot drinks and a picnic lunch is enjoyed around a campfire. When you reach the wilderness cabin, tend to the huskies and then enjoy a delicious hot meal to warm up. Located in the middle of a pristine forest, the wilderness cabin is basic yet cosy, and you can enjoy a wood heated sauna to relax before bed. The following morning, round up your team of dogs before following in the footsteps of a husky musher. Arrive back at Harriniva Holiday Centre in time for dinner and an evening sauna.

Today your husky musher experience comes to an end. Bid farewell to your huskies and make your way to the airport for your flight home.
