Travel to Finland to explore the country’s idyllic fell region. If you are a thrill seeker wanting a new experience, an extreme adventure week is the ideal holiday for you. Race over Arctic trails on a powerful snowmobile safari and learn how to ‘mush’ your own team of huskies as you admire the beautiful Finnish countryside. As you begin your journey further north of Kilpisjärvi you will witness the snowy landscape becoming even more dramatic. Stay overnight in rustic log cabins, wilderness huts and tents and taste the authentic flavours of Lappish culture. The irresistible contrast of tranquil scenic routes and vigorous snowmobiling makes this extreme adventure week a holiday to remember. As you control handsome huskies across frozen lakes and rivers, the only sound you’ll hear is the patter of paws on the icy ground. Breathe in the fresh, crisp air as you absorb the breathtaking views that surround you.

Day 1 -
Arrive at Harriniva

Upon arrival at Kittilä Airport, transfer to Harriniva where you will spend the first night of your extreme adventure week in a rustic log cabin.

Day 2 -
Snowmobile Safari
|
Following breakfast you will be given snowmobile safety instructions in preparation for your extreme adventure week. Today, your safari north begins. Zoom over glistening snowy landscapes as we head for Galdotieva, a scenic fell centre situated near to the Norwegian border. Along the way, we will stop for a picnic lunch. Absorb the raw beauty of this stunning location and stay overnight in an apartment or log cabin.

Day 3 -
Snowmobile Safari to Kilpisjärvi
|
Your extreme adventure week and invigorating safari continues after breakfast. Steer your snowmobile across 150 kilometres of treeless landscapes which are embraced by imposing mountainous peaks. At lunchtime, recharge your batteries as we stop en route for a picnic. Spend the evening heating up in a sauna and enjoying evening dinner. Stay in a cabin for the night.

Day 4 -
Husky Safari
|
Finland’s ‘dog sled’ dog, the husky, is indigenous in these parts of the world and is one of the country’s most enjoyable means of transport in the deep snow. Driving your own team of adorable dogs, the extreme adventure week continues across scenic fells. Listen to the crackle of the open fire and marvel at the endless scenes of pure beauty as we stop for lunch. In the afternoon the 25 kilometre safari resumes and we stay in a wilderness hut or tent later in the evening.

Day 5 -
Husky Safari to Kilpisjärvi
|
Prepare for the morning husky safari back to Kilpisjärvi where you will bid farewell to your new found furry friends. Contemplate the day’s adventure in the heat of the sauna, socialise with fellow travellers at dinner and unwind in a cosy cabin for the night.

Day 6 -
Snowmobile Safari to Harriniva
|
Keep a firm grip on the snowmobile’s heated handlebars which will keep you warm on the 200 kilometre journey over parts of the Victoria Trail back to Harriniva. Etch the wonderful memories of the last week firmly in your mind as your extreme adventure week concludes after the final evening in a log cabin.

Day 7 -
Departure

Transfer back to Kittilä Airport for your departing flight home.

The rate includes insurance for the snowmobile with own liability of max 550 Euros. To drive the snowmobile you must have a valid driving licence for vehicles with at least 125cc. A credit card number with signature has to be left as guarantee at the reception before starting the safari. On this safari we use snowmobiles with at least 600cc.
This holiday is not suitable for children.
