Harriniva in Finland is the ideal starting point for this thrilling five-day snowmobile adventure. Ice-covered rivers and lakes beckon the sound of the snowmobile’s revving engine so they can flaunt their pristine beauty to unassuming travellers. Discover the scenic countryside as you embark on a snowmobile adventure along the Victoria Trail, over mountain tracks and through glistening forests. On arrival you will be given appropriate clothing and safety instructions, and along the way you will even be shown handy tips on how to control your snowmobile in severe weather conditions. During this exhilarating snowmobile adventure you can overcome the steep tracks of Finland’s highest mountain and venture to the convergence of Sweden, Finland and Norway’s borders. Relax in the evenings of your snow safari as you learn about interesting Finnish culture in the midst of open mountain regions before retiring to your overnight accommodation. Enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of cosy log cabins that are dusted with untouched snow.
On the final evening of your snowmobile adventure you can relax with a hot sauna before enjoying a celebratory farewell dinner. Perhaps you may like to indulge in a soothing back massage in preparation of your return journey home.
Day 1 -
Arrive in Finland

Once your flight has landed at Kittilä Airport, transfer to Harriniva in Muonio for a welcome dinner and overnight accommodation. Prepare for your exciting snowmobile adventure in the morning.

Day 2 -
Begin your Snowmobile Adventure
|
Following breakfast, become familiar with your powerful snowmobile and receive safety instructions and all the essential equipment. Once you have been introduced to the week’s snowmobile adventure programme, start your engines and zoom into the snow-covered forest. Today’s snowmobile rides will cover approximately 100 kilometres as you head towards the Galdotieva Fell Centre which is situated close to the Norwegian border. Admire the endless trails of idyllic frozen landscapes as you inhale the crisp, unpolluted air. Cosy up during the evening of your snowmobile adventure holiday in a charming log cabin or if you are in a larger group, a comfortable apartment.

Day 3 -
Mountain Safari
|
Over the following days we will ride through picturesque, open mountain regions where the weather is liable to change suddenly and dramatically. It is essential for all drivers on the snowmobile adventure to pursue the tracks of their experienced guide. Later in the day we arrive in Kilpisjärvi where you can warm up in a customary sauna before relishing a traditional Finnish dinner.

Day 4 -
Snow Safari to the Summit of Halti

Today’s invigorating 120 kilometre drive takes us to the peak of Finland’s largest mountain, Halti, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the Norwegian mountain chain. The snowmobile adventure continues to the Swedish mountains where we visit the borders of Norway, Sweden and Finland. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Kilpisjärvi.

Day 5 -
Return to Galdotieva
|
|
During the 150 kilometre ride from Kilpisjärvi to Galdotieva, your snowmobile adventure guide will show you some helpful tricks on how to handle the snowmobile in deep snow. Stay in either cabins or apartments at Galdotieva this evening.

Day 6 -
Victoria Trail
|
The last day of our snowmobile adventure holiday takes us along a section of the magnificent Victoria Trail, which leads us back to Harriniva. Celebrate today’s 120 kilometre drive with a refreshing sauna or if you want a little more extravagance, enjoy a Finnish back massage. The evening will be spent indulging in delicious cuisine at the farewell dinner and there is opportunity to socialise with fellow travellers at the Harriniva bar. Reflect on the highlights of this unique snowmobile adventure through Finland before your final night’s stay.

Day 7 -
Depart Finland
|

Savour your last Finnish breakfast of the snowmobile adventure holiday at the hotel then transfer to Kittilä Airport for your return flight.

The driving distances may vary according to the weather conditions and skills of the group.
The rate includes the insurance for the snowmobile with own liability of max. 550€ per snowmobile.
Important information about the safari programmes: The driver of the snowmobile must have a valid driving licence (for vehicles with at least 125 cc). A credit card number with signature has to be left as guarantee in the reception before starting the safari. This safari is not suitable for children. On this safari we use snowmobiles with at least 600cc.
It is also possible to start this safari from Kittilä airport (on extra charge)!
