Go in search of the giants of the deep on this gripping Arctic adventure. Our orca whale watching holidays give you a magnified perspective on the rugged landscapes of this remote part of Norway. Over two days you will voyage onto the icy waters of Andenes to the fjords, where the orcas come to hunt for herring. For the last two years, the orcas, also known as killer whales, have been spotted in this area, making these orca whale watching holidays even more popular.
Sightings of the whales can never be guaranteed because like the Northern Lights, they can be unpredictable and weather conditions can also play a role, however, sea safaris in Andenes are more than often successful in locating the orcas.
Norway has many awe-inspiring natural features, including the wondrous Northern Lights, and the diverse landscapes of mountains and fjords that are permeated by thick snow in the winter. But what makes Norway really stand out from the crowd is its fascinating wildlife. Not only will you look for the great orca on these whale watching holidays, you can also seek out seals, humpback whales, puffins, eagles and guillemots.

Days 2 to 4 -
Orca and Humpback Whale Watching in Andenes

For the next three days you can totally immerse yourself in the nature of Norway. On two of the days we board RIB boats reasonably early in the morning to maximise the short hours of daylight and sail towards the Norwegian fjords, just half an hour from the harbour. The length of the boat trips will rely heavily upon the weather and what we manage to see during them. On another of the three days, you will have leisure time to explore the area independently. During your time on shore, explore the area and learn about the local culture, and in the evenings perhaps look for the Northern Lights.

We have done our best to ensure you have a greatly improved chance of seeing both, Orca and the Northern Lights on this trip by relying on local knowledge, scientific predictions and patterns of movement among the whales over recent years as they have followed the shoals of herring. Recent reports suggest there is a strong possibility that Humpback whales may also be seen on this excursion. Please note however that the appearance of the orca and the Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed as they are natural phenomena subject to many unpredictable variables.
