Day 2 -
Bergen – F¢rde (106 miles)
|
After an overnight in Bergen, the 'Gateway to the Fjords', your adventure starts with a drive north to the small town of Oppedal for a short ferry crossing to the lovely village of Lavik, beautifully situated overlooking the stunning Sogneford. Continue along the Sognefjord to Vadheim village from where the ride takes you through Sande to the town of Førde. Overnight stay at Rica Sunnfjord Hotel or similar.

Day 3 -
F¢rde – Ålesund (174 miles)

Following breakfast your journey continues via Skei to Olden where you can visit the famous Briksdalsbreen glacier. Drive through breathtaking fjord and mountain scenery passing Loen and Stryn to the charming fjord village of Geiranger. Here we recommend a one hour cruise on the stunning Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt. During this cruise on one of the narrowest fjords in Norway, you will see mountain farms and impressive waterfalls including the world-famous ‘Seven Sisters and the ‘Bridal Veil’. Then take another ferry crossing from Aursnes to Magerholm and ride on to the charming town of Ålesund. Overnight stay at First Hotel Atlantica or similar.

Day 4 -
Ålesund – Geiranger (99 miles)
|
This morning you continue through the ever-changing landscape along Romsdalsfjord to Åndalsnes and the peak of the extraordinary ‘Trollstigsveien’ (Troll Path). This unique hairpin road derives its name from the folk legend that trolls and dwarfs live here surrounded by hilltops and deep gorges. There is then a short ferry crossing from Linge to Eidsdal before you travel the dramatic Eagle Road to the lovely village of Geiranger. Overnight stay at Hotel Geiranger or similar.

Day 5 -
Geiranger – Beitostølen (140 miles)
|
After breakfast drive to Djupvasshytta and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Geirangerfjord from the Dalsnibba viewpoint. Continue through the Grotli mountains to Lom where you can visit the beautiful 12th century wooden stave church, then to Randen and on to the mountain village of Beitostølen. Overnight stay at Radisson SAS Resort Beitostølen or similar.

Day 6 -
Beitost¢len – Geilo (75 miles)
|
This morning your scenic drive continues from Leira over Golsfjellet mountain to Gol. From here continue to Torpo where you can visit the stave church which dates from 1140 and is the oldest building in the Hallingdal valley. Travel via Ål and Hol to the resort of Geilo where you can take a funicular railway up to Geilohøgda 1,100 metres above sea level to enjoy wonderful views of the surroundings. Overnight stay at Park Inn Highland, or similar.

Day 7 -
Geilo – Bergen (177 miles)

Today you start with a short drive back to Hol, then cross the spectacular Hallingskarv mountain range. Drive through the amazing Aurland valley, with panoramic views of the fjord below, to the little village of Flåm. Climb the famous ‘Stalheimskleiva’, the steepest road in Europe, passing Voss and Dale before reaching the old hanseatic town of Bergen, the capital of western Norway. In Bergen we recommend a visit to the famous Bryggen harbour, the hanseatic quarter and a trip on the funicular to Mount Fløien for panoramic views of the city and surrounding area. Overnight stay at Clarion Hotel Bergen Airport.
