Sweden : Ice Hotel Lapland Adventure
A luxury stay in a hotel made from ice and snow, combined with exciting activities
Ice Hotel® adventure breaks in the awe-inspiring landscape of Lapland in Sweden. The world's largest Ice Hotel is rebuilt entirely from snow and ice every year. You can combine staying in one of the spectacular arctic suits in the hotel with warm accommodation in the form of a luxurious bungalow. The Ice Hotel ® is located 125 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Lapland and has all sorts of winter activities, some of which are listed in the itinerary below.
Day 1 -
Arrive Kiruna and Snowmobile Safari

On arrival at Kiruna Airport transfer by minibus to the Icehotel in the village of Jukkasjärvi, an important centre of Sami Lapp culture. This masterpiece of construction has been rebuilt each year for the last 13 years - and no two ice hotels are ever the same - using thousands of tons of snow and ice. After checking in you have time to settle in to your fairytale surroundings before your arctic adventure begins with an exhilarating snowmobile safari in search of the mystical Northern Lights. Enjoy the excitement as you travel through the snow-covered arctic forest before stopping for a traditional dinner at a wilderness hut. Return to the ice hotel and your snow room for the unique experience of sleeping on an ice-block covered by insulating reindeer skins. The room temperature stays at a constant -5°C to -8°C, which feels pleasantly warm when outdoor temperatures can dip to -37°C, and you are kept snug and warm in a survival sleeping bag.

Day 2 -
Sami Culture, Reindeer and Husky Safari

In the morning you are woken with a cup of hot lingonberry juice at your bedside followed by a hearty breakfast and a sauna. We travel to a Sami camp located in the outskirts of Jukkasjärvi where you will get an insight into Sami culture. Learn how to drive with a reindeer and sledge before a typical Sami meal is served in a lavvo (a traditional Sami tent) by an open fire. In the afternoon, an eager team of huskies will whisk you off across the frozen lakes for an unforgettable arctic adventure. Return to the ICEHOTEL® for dinner and a relaxing evening soaking up the magical atmosphere of Swedish Lapland. Overnight stay in a warm Kaamos (non ice) Room in an adjacent building.

Day 3 -
Ice Hotel Optional Excursions

After breakfast you can enjoy some of the optional activities and excursions available including a moose safari, ice sculpting and snowshoe trekking (pre-booking recommended). Overnight stay in a warm Kaamos Room.

Depart Kiruna

After breakfast check out and transfer by minibus back to Kiruna Airport for your return flight.
