According to The World’s Best Diet, a recent Channel 4 documentary, Icelandic food is the healthiest in the world! Apparently their traditional diet of red and white meat, fresh fish and plenty of dairy products means that they likely to live longer than anywhere else.
In a survey of 50 nations which was based on rates of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, life expectancy and diet-related cancers, England placed a sorry 34th. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland followed just behind in 35th, 36th and 37th. And with Italy, Greece, France and Spain placed in the top 10, it is believed that those eating a healthy Mediterranean diet are also likely to outlive the rest of us.
