Work has begun on the largest cultural construction in Europe: Oslo’s National Museum. Taking up almost the entire block of the former Vestbanen station, the museum will eventually cover some 54,000 square metres.
The museum is set to house three significant art collections: The National Gallery; the Museum of Art, Architecture and Design and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Work is due to be completed in 2019.
