Landsmot – the world’s foremost Icelandic Horse show, takes place in south Iceland this summer. This biennial event runs from 30th June to 6th July and features everything from children’s classes to competitions for top riders.
The top breeding mares and stallions will be paraded at the show and there will be a best ‘tolt’ (a specific Iceland horse gait) competition.
Icelandic horses are a native, pony sized horse. Long lived and hardy, they are used on farms as well as for showing and racing.
