When the Norwegian Trekking Association announced, as an April Fools’ joke, that single hikers open to romance should wear a green hat when out walking over the Easter weekend, little did they know the idea would catch on!
What started out as a joke on the Association’s website, attracted 48,000 online hits and a great deal of facebook activity – so much so, in fact, that the Association have decided to give it a try.
“There are many singles who are interested in dating,” explained Association spokesperson Ida Helgesen. “and in Norway we are a little shy, so it will help to have a hat that signals whether we are interested or not.”
Norway is a stunning location for hiking and our Big Five Hiking holiday takes you to some of its foremost peaks. Take a look at what’s on offer – and don’t forget your hat!
