If you’re looking for a short term summer job, how about spotting polar bears in the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard for a month?
The job, which commences on the 8th July, involves watching the backs of scientists as they carry out their work and scaring off any bears by making as much noise as possible!
Applicants can be assured they will be kept busy as Svalbard is one of the few places in the world where the polar bear population is increasing. Indeed, the human population of 2400 is somewhat belittled by a polar bear population in excess of 3000.
If you want to check out the area without submitting an application, take a look at these fabulous Spitsbergen holidays.
