Time for Coffee?

If you’re planning to visit Scandinavia this year with The Mighty Fine Company be prepared for coffee and cake!

Northern Europeans love to ‘fika’ (go out for coffee). In fact they love it so much that, certainly in Sweden, the coffee breaks come thick and fast (typically every two hours). And the great news is that, as well as the liquid refreshment, there’s always cake too! From cinnamon rolls to almond rusks and chocolate cake, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat!

Shark Nursery Discovered off the Azores

According to recent research, baby blue sharks have their very own nursery – and it’s just off the coast of the Azores!

Known to spend their 'formative' years in a group setting, a shiver of blue sharks have set up their own nursery in the central North Atlantic. The babies spend two years in the area before they divide by sex and swim off into open water to start their adult life.

Santa is based on Nicholas, the Bishop of Myra. Born in the year 270 in a town in modern Turkey, Nicholas earned a reputation as an anonymous gift giver, paying the dowries of poor girl, handing out treats to children and leaving coins in their shoes.
