Day 1 - Arrival
On arrival in Winnipeg, you will meet with your wildlife expert guide who will be assisting you throughout your Polar Bear Watching Holiday. You will then head off to the Four Points by Sheraton airport hotel.
Day 2 - Discover Churchill
This morning, take a short flight to ‘the Polar Bear Capital of the World’, Churchill, where you’ll enjoy a fascinating tour around the town. Stops on the tour include Cape Merry, Port of Chuchill and the Manitoba Conservation Polar Bear Holding Facility (the locals just call it Polar Bear jail!).
Later on, you’ll head out into the stunning winter wonderland that surrounds the town for an exciting husky ride. You’ll be given a full briefing and then set out with the pack on an exhilarating safari.
At the end of the safari, you’ll bid farewell to the dogs and head to the Tundra Inn to rest up for the night.Meals included:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 - Learn About the History and Culture of Churchill
Today, you’ll have the chance to visit the Parks Canada Interactive Centre for a ‘virtual’ view of the country’s national parks. This state-of-the-art museum offers visitors a real insight into the local area.
The second stop today is the Eskimo Museum. After receiving a short introduction, you’ll be able to explore the venue at leisure. There’s an interesting Inuit collection for you to discover including carvings, kayaks and artefacts from around 3,500 years ago!
After today’s excitement, head to the Tundra Buggy Lodge which has been perfectly positioned at Polar Bear Point to ensure the greatest chance of spotting bears. Here, you’ll meet the group of like-minded travellers that you will spend the next few days with. Perhaps take some time to get to know them and swap stories about the exciting things you’ve seen already.Meals included:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Days 4 to 5 - Your Tunda Buggy Adventure
The highlight of your Polar Bear Watching Holiday - your Tundra Buggy adventure - begins today! Over the next few days you will have the chance to get up close to stunning Polar Bears as you travel through the Churchill Wildlife Management Area – only accessible to a select, few groups. You’ll be transported throughthe stunning Canadian wilderness, past frozen lakes and mountains blanketed in snow, to encounter the magnificent bears which reside here. A professional Polar Bears International guide will come on board one day to share his expertise of these majestic creatures with you.
Throughout your entire expedition, you’ll be accompanied by a wildlife expert who will tell you all you need to know about the various animals you will come across during your time here. Aside from Polar Bears, you are likely to encounter Arctic Foxes, Snow Shoe Hares, Ptarmigans and Caribous.
You’ll reside at the Tundra Buggy Lodge where you’ll spend your evenings swapping stories and photographs from the day, dining in the delightful restaurant, receiving informative talks from your guide about wildlife and nature and heading out onto the observatory platforms to try and catch a glimpse of the magical Northern Lights.Meals included:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 6 - Your Final Day on the Tundra
Today, you’ll embark on your final Tundra adventure. Perhaps take this opportunity to get some photographs or note down your sightings in a journal so that you never forget the memories made on this remarkable Polar Bear Watching Holiday.
Later, return to Churchill where you’ll take a flight back to Winnipeg. You’ll stay at Four Points by Sheraton airport hotel.Meals included:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Days 7 to 8 - Explore Winnipeg, Departure and Overnight Flight
Depending on your flight time, you may have the exciting opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Winnipeg this morning. There is so much to do here! Visit the Manitoba Museum, the Winnipeg Planetarium and the brand-new Canadian Human Rights Museum.
Later, return to Winnipeg airport where you’ll board your flight home, taking all your precious Polar Bear Watching Holiday memories with you.Meals included:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
