Day 1 - Arrive in Vancouver
Spend the afternoon exploring this incredible city. Home to an array of spectacular architecture, stunning nature and cultural treasures, you’re sure to find something to keep you captivated during your stay. Settle in to your hotel tonight and get plenty of rest, ready for the first day of adventures on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive!
Day 2 - Vancouver to the Sundance Guest Ranch
Collect your hire car today and set out along the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler. This stretch of your Wild West Rockies Self Drive gives you plenty of chance to admire Canada’s breathtaking countryside, including the Shannon Falls and the Stawarmus Chief Rock, a favourite location for climbers around the globe! Continue along the Duffey Lake Road, looking of for incredible views of the Joffee Glacier, before you reach tonight’s accommodation: the Sundance Guest Ranch

Day 3 - Sundance Guest Ranch
Spend a day exploring this authentic, family-owned ranch today. Situated in the high country of British Columbia, surrounded by magnificent scenery, it’s easy to feel like you really have stepped into the old west here! This impression is furthered by the horse riding excursions you’re free to take part in. Enjoy guided group tours for beginners, intermediates or experienced rides and explore the stunning countryside around the ranch on two to two and a half hour rides! And if you’re travelling as a family or in a group with varying riding skills, don’t worry; you can still go out together instead of in the skill groups. Spend a final night at the Sundance Guest Ranch before you hit the road tomorrow and continue your Wild West Rockies Self Drive.Meals included:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 - Sundance Guest Ranch to Clearwater
Journey along what used to be the old Cariboo Wagon Road today for yet another taste of the old west before reaching 100 Mile House and seeing the original Barnard Express BX Stagecoach! After this, carry on down Highway 24 and enjoy the stunning lake views this route offers. Formerly known as the Bridge Trail, Highway 24 was originally a trade route for the Shuswap people before its development in the early 1800s, giving you yet another taste of the region’s history today on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive. Spend the night in the traditional Alpine Meadows Resort.

Day 5 - Wells Gray Provincial Park
Make the most of your free time today with a short detour to the Wells Gray Provincial Park. This volcanically sculpted region is home to dormant volcanoes, mineral springs, breathtaking lakes and spectacular waterfalls, giving you an unforgettable experience of Canada’s natural highlights on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive Tour. Be sure to look out for the Helmcken Falls near the Park’s entrance and enjoy a sight that’s not to be missed before returning to the Alpine Meadows Resort for a second night.Meals included:Breakfast
Day 6 - Wells Gray Provincial Park to Jasper
Take to the Yellowhead Highway today, looking out for the incredible steep-walled gorges you can see en route and, of course, the magnificent falls of the North Thompson River. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the tallest peak in the Rockies: Mount Robson! Head into Alberta and the Jasper National Park as you travel towards this charming mountain village, taking in the sensational views of this stunning region on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive.

Day 7 - Exploring in Jasper
Today you can enjoy the chance to explore Jasper independently, choosing from a range of optional excursions. Take a tram ride to the top of Whistlers Mountain and look at out over the breathtaking vistas, or head on a boat cruise on the Maligne River! As the day comes to an end, you can opt for a visit to the Miette Hot Springs and enjoy a relaxing soak as the sun sets over the Pyramid and Patricia Lakes on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive.
Day 8 - Jasper to Banff
Set out along the ‘Spine of the Canadian Rockies’ today, also known as the Icefields Parkway! This spectacularly scenic route takes you past mountain peaks, shimmering lakes and magnificent glaciers, treating you to some of the best sights to be enjoyed in Canada. The highlights of the day’s journey are undoubtedly a journey onto the Athabasca Glacier on an incredible Ice Explorer ride and a trip to the brand new Glacier Skywalk! This exciting new observation platform is made of glass, 280m from the ground, meaning that you can experience panoramic views above, below and all around you. Continue from here to the breathtaking Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Relax on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive as you take in the stunning natural views from this traditional timber, tranquil retreat.

Day 9 - Exploring in Banff
Travel into Banff today for a day exploring this beautiful region. Take a look at the Cave and Basin National Historic Site or visit one of the museums for a look at the culture and history of the area. Look out over the breathtaking Bow Valley from the top of Sulphur Mountain with a cable car ride to the summit. The stunning panoramas seen from here provide perfect photography opportunities, so be sure to bring the camera! Relax in the waters of the Upper Hot Springs before you spend a second night in the unforgettable Buffallo Mountain Lodge tonight on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive.
Day 10 - Banff to Revelstoke
Drive through more of Canada’s stunning scenery today on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive. Follow the mountainous Kicking Horse Pass, enjoying sights of these towering peaks all around you, and head on into Rogers Pass. Continue to Revelstoke, a historic mountain city filled with cultural gems and offering breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies.

Day 11 - Revelstoke to Kamloops
Leave Revelstoke today, heading to the Lac Le Jeune Resort in Kamloops. Not far from Revelstoke you’ll find Craigellachie, where the last speak of the Canadian Pacific Railway was placed in 1885. Continue into the Shuswap area of British Columbia, a stunning region with 600 miles of shoreline boasting 25 marine parks, beaches, channels and more! From here your Wild West Rockies Self Drive will head into Kamloops and the Lac Le Jeune Resort. This tranquil retreat is surrounded by breathtaking views of pristine wilderness and offers a truly relaxing taste of Canada.

Day 12 - Kamloops to Vancouver
Join the Coquihalla Highway today and drive to 1244 metres’ elevation through the journey, high enough that an average winter sees as much as 10 metres of snowfall! Travel through the Great Bear Snow Shed and over the 280 metre long and 175 metre high, Dry Gulch Bride, offering stunning views of this mountain region. Begin the descent, passing from clear mountain routes to lush forests, seeing first hand the change in environment at different altitudes. Continue towards the Pacific coast, stopping off at Minter Garfens in the Fraser Valley. Arrive in Vancouver and drop off your hire car, marking the end of your driving time on this Wild West Rockies Self Drive.

Days 13 to 14 - Depart Vancouver and Your Overnight Flight
Enjoy a final morning in Vancouver on your Wild West Rockies Self Drive, taking in the highlight of the city or picking up some last minute souvenirs. Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home, arriving in London in the morning.
