Day 1 - Arrive in Vancouver
Spend an enjoyable afternoon exploring the city today, taking in its range of cultural and natural highlights. Relax in your luxurious hotel room tonight, discovering the views of the city’s stunning skyline or the hotel’s beautiful herb garden from your window. Get a good night’s sleep in preparation for the first full day of your Wildlife Holiday in British Columbia tomorrow.
Day 2 - Vancouver to Campbell River
Collect your hire car in Vancouver this morning before driving to Horseshoe Bay and enjoying a scenic ferry crossing to Nanaimo. From here you’ll begin the journey down to your accommodation for the night at Campbell River.
Days 3 to 5 - Bear Watching in Knight Inlet
Transfer by floatplane to the Knight Inlet Lodge, your accommodation for the next three nights. Here you’ll enjoy an in-depth Grizzly Bear watching experience, beginning with an introduction to wildlife viewing here. Knight Inlet is a fjord roughly 100km long and is the natural home of Canada’s famous Grizzly Bears. In the autumn, the bears concentrate around the water to feed on the salmon returning to the Glendale River, treating guests to unbelievable sights from the specially constructed viewing platform. During your time here on the Wildlife Holiday in British Columbia, you can observe these magnificent creatures in a variety of ways. See them on guided boat tours along the river, on estuary tours by kayak and, of course, from the many viewing stands found around the Inlet. Day 6 - Knight Inlet Lodge to Tofino
Your time at the Knight Inlet Lodge comes to an end today as you take the floatplane back to Campbell River. Of course, the animal sightings are by no means over with on your Wildlife Holiday in British Columbia as you head from Campbell River to Tofino with a suggested stop at the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association. Here you’ll find an array of rescued animals, from Black Bears to Bald Eagles, and can enjoy another to chance to see these incredible creatures.
Day 7 - Whale Watching in Tofino
Search for the giants of the deep today on your Wildlife Holiday in British Columbia as you set out on specially designed zodiac boats onto the Clayoquot Sound. The tour takes you by the beautiful scenery along the shores as you look out for a wide variety of marine and bird species. Day 9 - Tofino to Victoria
Journey on to the capital of British Columbia today as you travel to Victoria. We recommend a stop at the mall in Lantzville for a bite to eat. Day 10 - Whale Watching in Victoria
Embark from Victoria on an exhilarating coastal excursion in search of the many cetacean species that frequent these waters.
