The Setting

There’s really nowhere like Iceland. This land of fire and ice has an other-worldly feel to it, thanks to its amazing volcanic landscape. Here you’ll find lava beaches, hot springs, glaciers, mountains, waterfalls and so much more. This place provides the backdrop for many films so it’s little surprise that we have also chosen it as the backdrop for our Viking adventure Family Holidays. Iceland is an adventure in itself, there’s so much to experience and that’s why our holidays are action packed and full of fun. Outdoor challenges seem so real here so it’s quite easy for younger members of the family to play the Viking role, rising to every challenge and enjoying each moment.

Our Family Holidays in Iceland are based in Reykjavik. This stunning city, the largest in Iceland, with a population of around 120,000, is believed to be the first permanent settlement in the country, established in AD870. These days Reykjavik is one of the cleanest, greenest and safest cities in the world and boasts an addictive mix of big city attractions and small town friendliness. Colourful buildings add a quirky touch to the city centre where there’s a vibrant arts scene, great museums and galleries, stylish restaurants and bars and plenty of pavement cafes. In short, Reykjavik has everything you need for a really fantastic break!
