Isokenkaisten Klubi in Finland
A Family Run Hotel in a Pristine Environment
Looking after the environment is an important consideration to the owners of the Isokenkaisten Klubi. The hotel has its own sewage treatment system and the Wilderness Hotel Kortteeri is heated geothermally, harnessing energy from the adjacent Lake Heikinjärvi. The Isokenkaisten Klubi also focuses on guests’ health and wellbeing, promoting fun outdoor activities in the fresh air and pristine surroundings. Those that stay there can immerse themselves in the peace and tranquility of nature, whilst being thoroughly looked after by the friendly and caring staff.
Situated on the shores of the idyllic Lake Heikinjärvi in Northeast Finland, the Isokenkaisten Klubi is surrounded by fells, forests and lakes, which are home to an abundance of wildlife. The Russian border is a mere two kilometres away from the Isokenkaisten Klubi and the nearest town is Kuusamo, where there is a regional airport. The varied landscapes lend themselves to a selection of outdoor activities, especially in the winter when snow blankets the ground. Benefitting from the Midnight Sun in summer and flashes of the Northern Lights in winter, the Isokenkaisten Klubi presents nature at its best, no matter what the time of year.
The Private Restaurant Klubi introduces guests to traditional Finnish cuisine, which is always lovingly prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From home-grown potatoes and freshly picked berries, to fish caught in the lake that day and cheeses from a nearby farm, guests can enjoy true seasonal dining at the Isokenkaisten Klubi. In addition to the restaurant, the hotel proudly offers its fabulous Seven Star Smoke Sauna and also a smaller lakeside sauna, giving guests the perfect place to relax and let their worries melt away.
