The Iso-Syöte Hotel In Finland

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind winter holiday in the pristine Arctic wilderness of Finland. The Iso-Syöte region is also known as the “Gateway to Lapland” and boasts some of the heaviest snowfall in Finland, making it perfect for a thrilling winter holiday or honeymoon. The remarkable beauty of the Iso-Syöte resort is without a doubt a highlight of many guests’ stay there. Fresh powdery snow, white forests and glistening lakes surround Iso-Syöte, with the hill overlooking the valley of a breathtaking National Park.

Unlike many ski resorts, Iso-Syöte remains authentically Finnish, with a variety of log cabins that are scattered far enough away from each other to offer privacy, whilst also being within reach of the resort’s amenities. The Northern Lights

The Aurora Borealis, which are also known as the Northern Lights, may appear over the skies of the Iso-Syöte in Finland between October and March. There is no way of predicting when the phenomena will appear but certain factors such as clear weather conditions and staying at the Iso-Syöte during a New Moon will increase your chances of a sighting. The dazzling natural phenomena may illuminate the sky in dancing arcs of green, yellow, blue and pink light.

Iso-Syöte Accommodation

There are three different kinds of accommodation available to guests at the Iso-Syöte in Finland. The log cabins are by far the most popular option, with a choice of a Kelo cottage or a larger Fjell Top cottage. There is a wide range of amenities available inside the Kelo cottages including a log fire, living room, veranda and private sauna, bathroom with a shower, bedroom and a dining room. There are 20 Kelo cottages scattered around the resort, each accommodating up to four people with a pull-out sofa bed in the living room and twin beds in the bedroom.

For extra privacy and room we suggest the Iso-Syöte’s Fjell top cottages, which offer spectacular views as they are located at the very top of the Iso-Syöte Fjell, overlooking the picture-perfect forests and slopes of the resort. Up to eight people can stay in each Fjell Top cottage making it ideal for larger groups and families. The rooms are spread over two floors with a kitchen, living room and rustic fireplace, bathroom private sauna and double bedroom on the ground floor. On the upper floor there are two more bedrooms, an additional bathroom and a loft.

Alternatively you can stay in the Iso-Syöte Hotel, which overlooks the picturesque valley of the National Park. Each of the hotel’s 30 rooms has twin beds (with room to accommodate a third), a bathroom, TV and telephone. All guests, including people staying in the log cabins, can use the Iso-Syöte Hotel’s amenities, which include a swimming pool, two saunas, lobby bar and a restaurant which offers buffet style meals and a la carte service.
