  • Day 1 - Finland Husky Sledding : Arrival

    A transfer from the airport lets you see some of the beautiful Finnish countryside as you make your way to the lodge to begin your Finland Husky Sledding experience. After checking into your room and getting a briefing for your stay, head to the restaurant to enjoy some freshly prepared Finnish cuisine. In the evening you are free to use the saunas or explore the local countryside, keeping your eyes peeled for the Northern Lights.

  • Day 2 - Settle in to your surroundings

    Today you are settling in to your incredible surroundings. You will get a briefing in the morning where you will be issued with your safari clothing for the following week. Your hosts will help you acclimatise with a tour of the lodge and kennels, where you will get a chance to meet your team for the week!

    In your free time, take the opportunity to explore your surroundings. This region of Finland gets an incredible amount of snow and the landscape will be blanked in a deep white carpet with a fantastic opportunity to have a bit of fun in the snow!

  • Day 3 - Learn to be a Husky Musher

    Learn to be a Husky Musher

    On day three, your guides will continue with your introduction to Finland and Husky Sledding. Your dog mushing tuition starts in earnest today where you meet the huskies and their trainers. You will take part in a 13km safari today, taking turns at learning how to control the husky team as they pull the sled. Over the next few days you will work with your team of dogs, so this is an important opportunity to practice. An unbeatable opportunity to experience the life of a husky musher, this holiday is the perfect choice for those who want to enjoy active days and immerse themselves in the local culture.

  • Day 4 - Continue your Education

    Today you take the next step in your training in preparation for the expedition on day five as you take part in a 25-35km safari. Again you will take turns at learning how to control the husky team as they pull the sled. For lunch you will stop for lunch around the campfire before returning to your lodge for the night. The route on day five will cover different terrain from the previous day, presenting a new set of challenges, experiences and memories.

    After a hearty breakfast on your Finland Husky Sledding break, collect your equipment, ready to meet your excited team of huskies. After running  through the safety regulations with your guide, make sure your sledge is properly packed with your luggage and other equipment before setting off. After preparing the sled, get ready to experience the daily life of a husky musher, taking full charge of your team of dogs. Heading out into the icy wilderness, savour the beauty of your surroundings as you speed across the snow and ice, covering upto 50km a day. Frequent stops are made for hot drinks and a picnic lunch is enjoyed around a campfire. When you reach the wilderness cabin, with your guides help tend to the huskies and prepare your camp, getting the sauna ready and water from the Lake. Then enjoy a delicious hot meal to warm up. Located in the middle of a pristine forest, the wilderness cabins are basic yet cosy, and you can enjoy a relaxing wood heated sauna before heading to bed. In the mornings, round up your team of dogs and get ready for your journey. On your final day arrive back at Guesthouse Husky in time for dinner and an evening sauna.

  • Day 7 - Free Day

    Today you have a free day to take part in other activities (supplement applies) or just relax and unwind before returning home. There are some great activities for you to take part in, including a guided snowshoe trip, a snowmobile safari or another husky safari! If you prefer to take things at your own pace you can also hire snowshoes or cross country skis so you can explore the local countryside independently.   • Day 8 - Finland Husky Sledding : Departure

    Today your Finland Husky Sledding experience comes to an end. Bid farewell to your huskies and make your way to the airport for your flight home.
