Clothing and Equipment for your Holiday

As part of the preparation for your holiday, you may want to think about the type of clothing and equipment you will need to get the most out of your trip and, more importantly, that keeps you comfortable while you're away.

Dare 2b Clothing

If you are looking for a good quality clothing or equipment provider, we have worked closely with Dare 2b in the past and would recommend that you take a look at their extensive product range.

If you would like to speak to a member of our team about your holiday, or to find out about any special clothing or equipment you might need, feel free to call us on 0845 072 0090 or drop us an email on and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Depending on when and where you are travelling to, requirements will vary. It is your responsibility to be prepared for all conditions. We have suggested some important items you may need during your holiday, however, this list is not definitive.

Suggestions for summer holidays:

  • A camera that is waterproof (disposable ones can be useful for this)
  • Insect repellent and sting relief cream
  • A sensible pair of walking boots or trainers
  • Waterproof jacket (just in case)
  • Rucksack(s) for your party to carry any lunches, snacks or spare clothes
  • Sweatshirt or fleece
  • Comfortable lightweight trousers (but not jeans)
  • Sunhats and sunglasses
  • A bottle of water
  • Trainers, towels and swimming gear for some of the water activities
  • Suncream/sunblock
  • Casual clothing for evenings

Suggestions for winter holidays:

  • Thermal underwear
  • Socks (thin and thick)
  • A fleece sweater
  • Lip balm and suncream
  • Hat
  • Gloves
  • Comfortable trousers (but not jeans)
  • Sunglasses or ski goggles for some of the excursions
  • Appropriate footwear

While preparing for your holiday, part of the adventure can be making sure you are properly equipped. However, you don't need to buy a lot of expensive winter clothing for these holidays as many of the activities include the required clothing. We also find that when they're not doing the activities, many of our customers prefer to have the freedom of using their own clothes as the provided overalls can often be quite cumbersome.

The clothing for the winter activities can generally be of any type but it is important that you are able to layer it. When you are travelling to destinations where the temperature can drop to below freezing, it is important that the materials placed next to your skin are 'wicking' materials. These are materials that carry moisture away from your body and are often man made fabrics like polyester or natural materials like wool and bamboo. Cotton is not a 'wicking' material as it absorbs the water, and if it is exposed to the air at very cold temperatures it can freeze and cause frostbite when next to the skin.
