Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages

Fill your memories with unforgettable beauty aboard our Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages. With daily departures all year round, the Norwegian coastal voyage has been running for over 115 years delivering mail, supplies and passengers to the most remote parts of northern Norway. Originally intended as a communication link between north and south, tourists soon realised the beauty of the untouched coastline and the advantages of cruising along the route. Today the Hurtigruten fleet are mainly used as cruise ships offering an unparalleled look at the beauty of both Norway and Greenland with excellent facilities onboard. The Hurtigruten coastal voyage has also gained popularity as people have realised the opportunities of spotting the stunning Northern Lights and the mesmerising Midnight Sun on board.

Highlights of the Coastal Voyages

Our Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages travel around Norway stopping at a range of 34 ports (depending on the voyage you choose) in some incredible destinations. Some of the ports of call include Trondheim the original capital of Norway, Tromsø a city that combines modern architecture with traditional wooden houses and Kirkenes a remote area that borders with Russia and is home to the famous ice hotel. Many of the places the ships stop at allow guests to embark on excursions such as dog-sledging, city tours, Sami experiences and snowmobile safaris. There are 14 ships in the fleet and 11 that depart every day and night on Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages making for a unique journey whenever you may travel.

The Hurtigruten Fleet

Most of the ships owned by Hurtigruten have been built towards the latter part of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st meaning that they are extremely comfortable and ensure a pleasant stay on board for all guests. Onboard the ships there is a sun deck, panoramic lounge, bar, a restaurant serving fresh seasonal cuisine, a fitness room, a cafe and Jacuzzis. The cabins range from larger rooms with seating areas, double beds, televisions, stereos, mini-bars, internet access and showers or baths to outside cabins with upper and lower berths and a wash basin. There has never been a better opportunity to search for the Northern Lights or the Midnight Sun as Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages travel far enough north for both to occur.
