For an exciting journey along some of the most beautiful and untouched coastlines in the world the Hurtigruten Cruise Line could be a perfect choice. Hurtigruten was founded over 115 years ago for the purpose of creating a communication link between the north and south of Norway, so the remote regions in the north could receive mail, cargo and passengers more regularly than ever before. The route the ships sailed along turned out to be a trip of magnificent natural wonders, stunning scenery and incredible wildlife, which now attracts people year after year to sail along the coast of Norway, Greenland and Spitsbergen with the Hurtigruten cruise line. Join the friendly crew and like-minded fellow passengers for an amazing trip along these striking arctic coastlines.

The Ships

The Hurtigruten ships boast a relaxed and informal atmosphere while still combining fresh seasonal cuisine with comfortable surroundings. Most of the ships used by the Hurtigruten Cruise Line are relatively new, being built in the latter part of the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st, meaning they are full of modern commodities such as internet access, fitness rooms and Jacuzzis. The Hurtigruten cruise line has a fleet consisting of 14 ships with most of them boasting sun decks, bars, panoramic lounges, cafes, libraries and restaurants. Guests are guaranteed a pleasant stay aboard a Hurtigruten ship with cabins ranging from luxurious two room suites with a double bed, sofa, mini-bar, television, stereo, internet access and a shower or bath to small cabins with upper and lower berths and a wash basin.

Things to do on a Hurtigruten Cruise

When you sail with the Hurtigruten Cruise Line you will be entertained by the amazing display of scenery and the chance to see some of the world’s best natural wonders such as the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun. Even if you travel when these natural phenomenons are not visible, there is so much to do and so much to explore in the beautiful towns, cities and villages that the cruise stops off at. There are a variety of excursions to choose from that incorporate wildlife and scenery such as dog sledging in Tromsø, tours of the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund and a cultural experience of Sami life in Hammerfest.
