Day 1 - Fly to Reykjavík
On arrival, collect your rental car and make your way to your hotel for the start of your Fly Drive in Iceland. You have the rest of the day to familiarise yourself with this cultural city.

Day 2 - Drive along the West Coast
Begin your Fly Drive in Iceland with a scenic drive up the west coast travelling through lush fjords. You will have the opportunity to spend some time at Skagafjörður or peer into the crater of the Grábrók Volcano. Arriving in the region of Eyjafjörður, enjoy the following two nights in North Iceland.

Day 3 - North Coast
Head towards the capital of North Iceland where there will be time to go sightseeing at Akureyri. As you continue eastwards you will reach Goðafoss Waterfall which is one of the most spectacular in the country. Finally, arrive at Lake Mývatn and admire the birdlife and volcanic landscape which surrounds it. This is a great area for delving into the geology of the island during your Fly Drive in Iceland.

Day 4 - East Iceland
Húsavík is a charming fishing village which is located nearby and is a great place to enjoy a whale watching tour. At leisure, drive in an easterly direction, across lava plateaus and desert, stopping at Hengifoss and Dettifoss waterfalls en route.

Day 5 - Vatnajökull National Park
Today on your Fly Drive in Iceland you will witness the beautiful fishing villages and epic fjords that make up much of the scenery. Vatnajökull is the biggest glacier in Europe and spreads across over eight percent of the country. You can go hiking in Skaftafell National Park or sail out onto the glacial lagoon on a boat trip. Overnight in the Skaftafell region.

Day 6 - The South Coast
Driving south on the Fly Drive in Iceland you will see the scenery become even more beautiful with mountains and glaciers dominating the area. Crowded bird cliffs hang overhead and black sands are lapped by the North Atlantic waters. Passing over the Laki lava field, see Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls crashing down the sides of verdant cliffs. Spend the night either in Selfoss or Hella.

Day 7 - Golden Circle Tour
Today is possibly one of the most impressive of all on the coastal road trip with the famous sites of the Golden Circle to explore. Gullfoss Waterfall, Þingvellir National Park and Geysir Hot Springs make up this this famous trio that have become one of Iceland’s most visited attractions. You can take your time uncovering the history and geology of each area before making your way back to Reykjavík for the final night of your Fly Drive in Iceland.

Day 8 - Depart Iceland
Return your hire car and check in for your flight home at Reykjavík Airport as your Fly Drive in Iceland comes to an end.
