  • Day 1 - Welcome to Reykjavík

    From Reykjavík Airport, transfer to your centrally located hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps taking a wander around the city to see some of the sights.

  • Day 2 - Discover the City

    Start your first day on the Iceland New Year break with a guided tour of Reykjavík. See iconic landmarks such as the parliament buildings, the towering Hallgrímskirkja and the picturesque Lake Tjörnin at the heart of the city. Afterwards you're free to enjoy some independent exploration of this vibrant city, be sure to have a look around the shopping district this afternoon and pick up the perfect souvenir!

    Tonight you embark on an unforgettable Northern Lights tour. If weather permits, you will set out in search of the stunning Aurora by sea on an exhilarating boat safari! Don't worry though, if the weather prevents a boat journey, a bus tour over the Icelandic terrains will take its place as you search for one of Iceland's most incredible phenomena!

  • Day 3 - New Year's Eve

    New Year's Eve

    Tonight's the big night on your Iceland New Year break, but that doesn't mean you can't have a thrilling day beforehand! Begin with an incredible Golden Circle tour; taking in three of Iceland’s most popular sights. The first is the famous Geysir Hot Springs, where you can witness superheated water erupting high into the air. The second is þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a place of amazing historical importance and remarkable geological formations. Finally, there's Gullfoss Waterfall, a magnificent three-tiered waterfall on the Hvítá River.

    Late in the afternoon, you will be transported to Reykjavik's Old Harbour and the imposing Harpa Concert Hall. You will be greeted with a welcome coctail before sitting down to a delicious four course meal. Afterwards, guests are taken by coach to a wonderful bonfire and fireworks display. The local guides will take you to the best available city views in order to enjoy the fantastic sight of Reykjavik lit up by fireworks. Afterwards, enjoy music and dancing into the small hours.

  • Day 4 - New Year's Day

    New Year's Day

    After your Iceland New Year’s Eve celebrations, you have a leisurely start to New Year’s Day. Enjoy breakfast before heading to the stunning Reykjanes Peninsula, home to a wide range of geological treasures. These otherworldly landscapes offer breathtaking shoreline views, incredible hot springs and fascinating lava fields. End your tour at the lighthouse on the tip of the Peninsula after crossing a bridge over the continents. After lunch you'll enjoy discovery of a different kind as you head on to the world-renowned Blue Lagoon. Enjoy a soak in its warm, mineral rich waters and perhaps book a treatment at the spa. Feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, return to Reykjavík for dinner and a good night’s sleep.

  • Day 5 - Departure

    Return to Reykjavík Airport for your flight home, full of amazing memories of your New Year in Iceland. What was your favourite experience, the New Years Eve Dinner at Harpa, the Blue Lagoon or the amazing Golden Circle? There's simply so much to choose from!

Please note: In previous years this itinerary has held the dinner at the Perlan Restaurant on Öskjuhlíð Hill. This year the Perlan is currently undergoing refurbishment works and it's availability is uncertain over the New Year. It is intended that the tour will visit Perlan on New Year's Eve, but at the time of writing this has not been confirmed. The order of activities may be subject to change.
