  • Day 1 - Civitavecchia, Port of Rome

    Civitavecchia is the port for the stunning, historical city of Rome and it is here you’ll find the Royal Clipper waiting for you. Board the ship and relax with a cocktail as this elegant vessel sets sail on a Western Mediterranean adventure.   • Day 2 - Palmarola and Ponza, Italy

    Palmarola and Ponza, Italy

    The most western of the Pontine Islands, Palmarola, is best known for its breathtakingly transparent sea and secluded tranquillity. It is mostly uninhabited and the only tourist facilities are the small beachside restaurants, making this a truly unspoilt location.

    The largest of the Pontine Islands, Ponza is characterised by towering cliffs, secluded beaches and whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs. Colourful fishing boats bob gently in the harbour and everyday life here is mostly untouched by the outside world, making Ponza one of the most authentic Italian islands you will visit during your Western Mediterranean cruise.

  • Day 3 - Sorrento/Capri


    Exuding laid back Italian charm, Sorrento is a small but delightful town overlooking the spectacular Bay of Naples.   • Day 5 - Taormina, Sicily

    Sailing south to Sicily, you will first visit the historical town of Taormina on today's Western Mediterranean cruise schedule. Home to one of the island’s most famous ancient ruins, the remarkably well preserved Greek Theatre, the area also boasts excellent beaches suitable for bathing and, of course, views of the imposing Mount Etna which dominates the skyline.

  • Day 6 - Lipari, Italy and Sailing in the Area of Stromboli

    Lipari, Italy and Sailing in the Area of Stromboli

    Today on your Western Mediterranean cruise you will visit Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands. Inhabited since 4 BC, this charming town has an historic main street where you will find plenty of shops and bars and an impressive castle standing proud on the hill. Later, your Western Mediterranean cruise sails past Stromboli, one of Italy’s three active volcanoes.

  • Day 7 - At Sea

    At Sea

    Spend today relaxing on board the Royal Clipper and make use of her fantastic facilities. Unwind in the spa, relax with a good book from the library and soak up the sun on the spacious outdoor deck. Enjoy the views of the Italian coastline as the Royal Clipper skips over the waves of the Western Mediterranean and even, perhaps, take part in some of the ship's watersports.

  • Day 8 - Civitavecchia, Port of Rome

    Civitavecchia, Port of Rome

    Arriving back in Civitavecchia, you will leave the luxury of the Star Clipper and transfer to Rome for your flight home. If you don’t want your Western Mediterranean adventure to end there, we will happily arrange extra nights in Rome for you, giving you time to explore one of the world’s most fascinating cities.
