  • Day 1 - Windhoek, Namibia

    A Southern Africa Safari Holiday introducing you to Africa's most iconic creatures - Windhoek, Namibia

    Arrive in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, today and transfer to the Terra Africa Guest House. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore this intriguing city before meeting with your guide at the lodge for a pre-departure meeting. Settle into your comfortable room for a good night’s sleep, ready for the first adventure of your Southern Africa Safari Holiday in the morning.

  • Days 2 to 3 - Sossusvlei, Namibia

    Sossusvlei, Namibia

    Leave the capital and head south towards the Namib Naukluft National Park, home to what is believed to be the oldest desert in the world, and your base for the next two nights, the Agama River Camp. Get an early start the next morning as you pay a visit to the highest sand dunes in the world at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, reaching heights of over 300m! Stop of to see the stunning Sesriem Canyon, carved by the Tsauchab River millions of years ago and a fascinating discovery on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday.

  • Day 4 - Namib Naukluft National Park – Swakopmund, Namibia

    Namib Naukluft National Park – Swakopmund, Namibia

    Drive through the magnificent Namib Naukluft National Park today, home to some of the world’s rarest flora and fauna. Look out for sightings of the oryx, springbok and Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra on your journey through the Park. Stop of at Walvis Bay, a favourite amongst bird watchers with the chance to see flamingos in the lagoon and many other species in the area. Arrive at the charming German town of Swakopmund later today and take some time to enjoy the atmosphere and explore its beautiful beaches.

  • Day 5 - Waterberg Plateau, Namibia

    Waterberg Plateau, Namibia

    Leave the coast today as you head to the Waterberg Plateau Park. Originally a conservation are or eland, the largest antelope species in Africa, the park is now a sanctuary for a number of amazing animals, including black and white rhinos, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs and the only breeding colony of Cape Vulture in Namibia. Enjoy a short hike in the reserve and look out for the magnificent wildlife living here.

  • Day 6 - Kamanjab, Namibia

    Kamanjab, Namibia

    Enjoy a day of cultural discovery on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday with a visit to a Himba Village. Learn about the rich cultural traditions and their lifestyle as well as experiencing the milking ceremony and smoke bath. Delve into their beliefs about the holy fire, ancestors and herbal medicine and how their jewellery and hairstyles imitate the status of tribe members and their relationships.

  • Days 7 to 8 - Etosha National Park, Namibia

    Etosha National Park, Namibia

    Over the next two days we will enjoy a real treat on our Southern Africa Safari Holiday: game drives in the famous Etosha National Park, an undisputed highlight of the north. Enter the park along the previously restricted Western Corridor, home to some of the highest numbers of wildlife. Etosha is home to roughly 114 mammal species, 340 bird species, 110, reptile species, 16 amphibian species and even one species of fish, making it one of the largest game reserves in Africa and a major wildlife sanctuary, as well as the perfect place to search for your own incredible sightings. Look out for big predators including lions, cheetahs and leopards as well as well as other iconic creatures like giraffes, wildebeest, black rhinos and elephants! The elephants are reputed to be the largest in Africa with the tallest standing 4m at the shoulder, while the black rhinos here are one of the few growing populations in the world.

  • Day 9 - Grootfontein, Namibia

    Grootfontein, Namibia

    Head deep into Bushmanland today as you head to Roy’s Rest Camp, your accommodation for the night. This stop over offers plenty of chance to explore on walking trails as well as ample opportunity to see more birdlife and game for another incredible sight on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday.

  • Day 10 - Mahangu, Namibia

    Mahangu, Namibia

    Enjoy a guided visit to the Living Museum of the Ju’Hoansi-San, a bushman community, and make the most of this chance to gain a unique insight into their daily lives. The Living Museum allows guests to learn about the traditional culture and original lifestyles of the San people. Take a walk near the village and see how the hunters search for food, setting snares and ropes, and learn to start a fire in the Ju’Hoansi way. Later on we head north west to the Mahangu Lodge, our accommodation in west Caprivi.

  • Day 11 - Maun, Botswana

    Maun, Botswana

    Head south into Botswana today, travelling towards Maun, known as the gateway to the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. Your afternoon is yours to do as you like, whether that simply relaxing by the pool at the lodge, enjoying a walk around the area or even booking an optional flight over the Okavango Delta, offering absolutely stunning aerial views of this unique part of Botswana.

  • Day 12 - Maun - Greater Khwai, Botswana

    Maun - Greater Khwai, Botswana

    This morning, we will be picked up by our guide and taken to the mokoro station. Float along in these dug-out canoes, looking out at the lush vegetation of the Okavango Delta, seeing a wide range of bird and wildlife.  Unlike other deltas, the Okavango flows into the Kalahari Desert without ever reaching the coast, making it a truly unique region to traverse. Later on, we head to our camp in the Greater Khwai area, settle in, and prepare for a spectacular night game drive. Make the most of this chance to see the fascinating nocturnal habits of the creatures you won’t see during the day on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday.

  • Day 13 - Greater Khwai, Botswana

    Greater Khwai, Botswana

    Spend a day on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, exploring the Greater Khwai River area and looking out for the sensational creatures found in the region. Famed for its high concentration of mammals, the area’s location means it’s treated to frequent visits from iconic African creatures including elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards and cheetah. When you’re not watching the amazing animals on the ground, look out for the array of birdlife in the region, in particular wildfowl and raptors!

  • Day 14 - Greater Khwai - Nata, Botswana

    Greater Khwai - Nata, Botswana

    Travel away from the bush today and head towards the iconic Makgadikgada Pans. These fascinating formations were once a large, river-fed lake but over time have back saline and empty. Visit the Nata Bird Sanctuary this afternoon on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday and enjoy a simply breathtaking view of the Sowa Pan, part of the Greater Makgadikgada Pans and an exceptional photo opportunity!

  • Days 15 to 16 - Nata - Chobe, Botswana

    Nata - Chobe, Botswana

    Venturing north, we head towards Kasane, known as the gateway to the Chobe National Park. This 10,566 square kilometre park is the second largest in Botswana and has one of the most impressive elephant concentrations on the continent. Your first afternoon is your own to enjoy one of a range of optional activities or just to unwind by the pool. Begin your second day here with an unforgettable game drive through the National Park, hopefully you’ll have the chance to see some of Africa’s famous big game up close, and maybe even some of its fearsome predators! Take to the water in the afternoon with a cruise along the Chobe River, one of the very best ways to see the incredible wildlife on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday, and offering breathtaking views of the sunset.

    Cross the border into Zimbabwe today and onward into the Hwange National Park. A haven for wildlife and home to spectacular herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra and giraffe, this unforgettable destination offers amply opportunity to see the magnificent African wildlife. Spend your second day here on a full day game drive, enjoying exceptional chances to see these amazing creatures and taking in the stunning views of this natural sanctuary on your Southern Africa Safari Holiday.

  • Day 19 - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

    Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

    Turn north to the thundering Victoria Falls today enjoy a guided tour of the iconic landmark. Known to locals as the ‘smoke that thunders’, the Falls are a mile long and have the largest water curtain in the world as 500 million litres plummet down the 100m drop to raise an astonishing mist. It comes as no surprise that this magnificent feature is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and one that you’ll be treated to discovering today on your adventure. Once again you have the rest of the day at leisure, choose from a range of optional activities or just relax and look over your pictures of the Falls.

  • Day 20 - Depart Zimbabwe

    Sadly it’s time for your Southern Africa Safari Holiday to come to end, after breakfast you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight home. Hopefully you’ll have plenty of memories, and pictures, of the amazing wildlife, stunning scenery and incredible landmarks you’ve seen!
