North of the Lofoten Islands and featuring a varied landscape of rugged, wild terrain and cultivated, populated areas, Vesteralen is a charming series of islands, connected by bridges. This beautiful area boasts fjords and sounds, rivers and lakes, moors, valleys and plains.

Our five day, Northern Lights Autumn tour lets you discover the culture and wildlife of this spectacular area as well as enjoying fabulous Aurora adventures. Vesteralen in Autumn is sheer joy. The colourful landscapes provide a perfect backdrop for wildlife watching and, after months of daylight, the dark evenings return to create a fitting canvas for the Aurora. The locals know everything there is to know about the Northern Lights and, if your hosts feel there are better chances of seeing the Aurora by heading away from your accommodation, they will be more happy to take you to the best spots.

From the moment you arrive, you will be finding out about local culture, exploring the natural beauty and generally immersing yourself in the Sami way of life. You will hear about Sami traditions from a farming family, set out by night on Northern Lights safaris, learn how to photograph wildlife from a seasoned professional, discover the joys of hiking and even, if you like, go kayaking.

Your accommodation on this Northern Lights Autumn tour boasts a peaceful seaside setting, fabulous views and great local cuisine. You’re guaranteed a really warm welcome here, meaning you’ll feel very much at home from the moment you arrive and, with such active daytimes to keep you busy, you’re sure to sleep soundly each night.
