  • Day 1 - Arrive Oslo

    Our Norway Fjord Tour let you explore this scenically stunning part of Europe - Arrive Oslo

    Your Norway Fjord Tour begins as you arrive in Oslo.  Here, you will be transferred to your centrally located hotel, close the Karl Johan shopping boulevard.

  • Day 2 - Oslo to Ulvik

    Oslo to Ulvik

    After breakfast, your Norway Fjord Tour is kicked off by visiting the world-famous Viking Ships, before departing Oslo, driving via Hønefoss along the charming Halling Valley to the town of Geilo.  Enjoy a buffet lunch at Bardøla Mountain Hotel.  After lunch you'll cross the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall with a vertical drop of 180 metres.

    Ideally located on the banks of the fjord, this evening, dinner and accommodation are at Brakanes Hotel.

  • Day 3 - Ulvik to Bergen

    Ulvik to Bergen

    After breakfast, descend the amazing Måbødal Canyon to the beautiful Hardangerfjord. Crossing the Hardanger bridge marks the start of scenic tour along the beautiful Hardangerfjord, famous for its many fruit orchards, via the towns of Øystese and Norheimsund, arriving in Bergen at around midday.  Lunch is served at a local restaurant before embarking on a two hour panoramic tour of Bergen this afternoon, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled pack houses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter.  You will also ride on the funicular to Mt. Fløien, for the best views of the city and fjords way below.

    Your accommodation tonight is at First Hotel Marin, centrally located next to the old Bryggen harbour and close to the pedestrian shopping streets.

  • Day 4 - Bergen to Flåm to Balestrand

    Bergen to Flåm to Balestrand

    After breakfast your Norway Fjord Tour takes you to Balestrand.  You'll leave Bergen driving via Dale to the town of Voss.  Here, you will board the train in Voss for a ride on the beautiful Bergen Railway to the mountain station of Myrdal.  From Myrdal ride on the amazing Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering descending 2,838 feet in less than one hour.  The descent to the fjord side village of Flåm offers opportunities for photo shots of exciting waterfalls and mountain scenery. After a short stop in Flåm, start the two hour  (approximately)  cruise along the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world.  You'll witness spectacular scenery of sheer mountain cliffs, cascading waterfalls, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife.  After disembarking in Gudvangen - the head of the Nærøy Fjord - continue by coach through the amazing Stalheim Canyon and Nærøy Valley, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes, for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand.

    Dinner and accommodation tonight is at the at Kviknes Hotel, surrounded by mountains and located on the banks of the fjord.

  • Day 5 - Free Time in Balestrand

    Free Time in Balestrand

    You have a free day in Balestrand today, affording you the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords.  The day starts with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room.  You may wish to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular views.  We can also recommend a visit to the local aquarium and art gallery, or you may prefer to rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or even go on foot up to the nearest mountains.  A walking tour of the village of Balestrand, with its historic buildings and other noteworthy sites can also be arranged.

  • Day 6 - Balestrand to Geiranger

    Balestrand to Geiranger

    After buffet breakfast departure from your hotel by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, followed by a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sognefjord to Sogndal.  The tour continues by road to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier - the largest in Europe - to the village of Skei at the northern end of beautiful Lake Jølster.  Descend to the Nordfjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier.  The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best views.  A delicious lunch will be served in a nearby mountain restaurant facing the glacier, before continuing around the Nordfjord via Loen and Stryn, to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. Your Norway Fjord Tour includes a one hour cruise along the spectacular Geirangerfjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords.  During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters.

    Dinner and accommodation tonight are at the excellent Union Hotel, overlooking Geirangerfjord.

  • Day 7 - Geiranger to Oslo

    Geiranger to Oslo

    After your buffet breakfast you'll leave Geiranger from the top of one of the serpentine roads, affording you the opportunity to catch some amazing views of the fjord, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, well known for its 14th century stave church.  Your journey continues via Lake Vågå, before descending the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to the popular tourist town of Lillehammer where you'll stop for lunch.  After lunch, your journey continues alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, back to Oslo.

    Your final nights' accommodation and dinner are at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel.

  • Day 8 - Departure

    Your Norway Fjord Tour concludes today. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight. You are sure to be flying home with wonderful memories of Norway and, no doubt, plans to return once more to this stunningly beautiful country!
