  • Day 1 - Arrive Bergen

    Embark on our Norway Fjords Escorted Tour and discover sheer natural beauty - Arrive Bergen

    Your Norway Fjords Escorted Tour begins with your arrival in Bergen.  Here, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation at the First Hotel Marin, centrally located next to the old Bryggen harbour and close to the pedestrian shopping streets.

  • Day 2 - Bergen to Flåm to Balestrand

    Bergen to Flåm to Balestrand

    After breakfast, your Norway Fjords Escorted Tour takes you to the beautiful town of Balestrand.  Drive via Dale to the town of Voss, where you will board the train for a ride on the beautiful Bergen Railway to the mountain station of Myrdal.  From Myrdal ride the amazing Flåm Railway descending 2,838 feet in less than one hour, a true masterpiece of engineering.  The descent to the fjord side village of Flåm offers photo opportunities for those all-important shots of exciting waterfalls and mountain scenery.  After a short stop in Flåm, start the two hour  (approximately)  cruise along the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords - both branches of the longest and deepest fjord in the world - the Sognefjord.  You'll witness spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, snow-clad peaks, sheer mountain cliffs and a variety of wildlife.  After leaving the ship in Gudvangen - the head of the Nærøy Fjord - continue by coach through the amazing Nærøy Valley and Stalheim Canyon, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes, for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand.

    Dinner and accommodation tonight is at the at Kviknes Hotel, surrounded by mountains and located on the banks of the fjord.

  • Day 3 - Explore Balestrand

    Explore Balestrand

    There's free time in Balestrand today, affording you the opportunity to enjoy the nature and outstanding beauty of the fjords.

    The day starts with a Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room.  You may wish to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular views.  We also recommend a visit to the art gallery and local aquarium.  Perhaps you'd [refer to rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or even go on foot up to the nearest mountains.  A walking tour of the village of Balestrand, with its historic buildings and other noteworthy sites can also be arranged.

  • Day 4 - Balestrand to Geiranger

    Balestrand to Geiranger

    After breakfast, leave the hotel, taking the ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, followed by a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sognefjord to Sogndal.  Your tour continues by road to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier - the largest in Europe - to the village of Skei at the northern end of beautiful Lake Jølster.  Drive down to the beautiful Nordfjord, making a detour to Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal  Glacier.  The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best views possible.

    Afterwards a typical Norwegian lunch will be served in sight of the glacier.  This afternoon on your Norway Fjords Escorted Tour, you continue via Loen and Stryn, to the picturesque village of Hellesylt.  Here, you will board the ferry for the one hour  (approximately)  cruise along the spectacular Geirangerfjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords.  During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Seven Sisters and the Bridal Veil.

    Dinner and accommodation tonight are at the excellent Union Hotel overlooking the Geirangerfjord.

  • Day 5 - Journey to Oslo

    Journey to Oslo

    Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel before leaving Geiranger.  Your Norway Fjords Escorted Tour gives you the opportunity to see some amazing views of the fjord, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, a small town well known for its 14th century stave church.  Your journey continues via Lake Vågå, before travelling down the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to the popular town of Lillehammer where you make a stop for lunch.  After lunch, you'll continue alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, back to Oslo.

    Your final nights' accommodation and dinner are at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo

  • Day 6 - Depart Oslo
