With a Svalbard Adventure you don't just visit the Arctic - you live it

What Makes Me Mighty Fine

  • Thrillingly authentic, five day Arctic wilderness break in Spitsbergen, featuring an overnight snowmobile safari with a stay in the Ship in the Ice or the luxury Isfjord Radio hotels and a half day husky excursion
  • Set out on an overnight snowmobile safari through the wilderness, staying in luxurious accommodation in a truly remote location
  • Spend three nights in the Trappers Station – an authentic Trappers style hotel located near Longyearbyen
  • Enjoy a half day husky safari, mushing your own team of dogs as you fly through the snowy landscape
  • Look out for local wildlife including the Svalbard Reindeer, the Arctic Fox, the Svalbard Rock Ptarmigan and, of course, the magnificent Polar Bear

If you’re searching for an authentic Arctic experience, look no further than our Svalbard Arctic Adventure. You’ll stay, for the most part of your holiday, in The Trapper’s Station on the island of Spitsbergen. This thoroughly authentic hotel in Longyearbyen has been heavily influenced by an old style trapper’s hut and it offers travellers a real insight into the region and its fascinating culture.

Spitsbergen itself is scenically stunning, covered in glaciers, frozen fjords and fabulous mountain ranges. The Trapper’s Lodge is situated in the small community of Longyearbyen. This small town at 78 degrees north, offering the sheer seclusion required to make the most of this fabulous experience.

Loneliness, however, is something you won’t suffer during your Svalbard Arctic Adventure. During your stay you will get to visit kennels, where you'll find some 80 huskies, used locally to pull sleds. These fabulous creatures will greet you with a warm welcome, always ready for a game and some fun. Indeed, during your stay, you will set out on a half day husky-sledding expedition, to experience for yourself the sheer strength and enthusiasm of these magnificent animals.

During your Svalbard Arctic Adventure, you’ll experience a real Arctic adventure in the wilderness. Travelling by snowmobile and looking out for appearances of the fabulous local wildlife, you will journey to either the Ship in the Ice Hotel or the Isfjord Radio. Both of these accommodation options have fascinating stories. As its name suggests, the Ship in the Ice Hotel is actually a ship which is frozen in place each year and used as a hotel. Staying here is a fabulously different experience and one you’ll remember for a very long time. The Isfjord Radio, a former communications centre, is now a luxury holiday base whose exceptional accommodation and engaging history make for a really different holiday experience. Whichever base you choose, you will spend an amazing night here, enjoying sheer comfort and luxury amid the stark wilderness surroundings.
