    Journey from Helsinki to St Petersburg

    Depart Helsinki and travel to St Petersburg by train, arriving mid afternoon for a coach transfer to the central Ambassador Hotel. Along the way the Escorted Tour of Russia and the Baltics takes you on a one hour guided boat cruise along the Neva River, discovering St Petersburg by water as you look at the stunning architecture along the banks.     Today on your Escorted Tour of Russia and the Baltics, you can enjoy an exciting voyage on the hydrofoil to Peterhof, the magnificent summer residence of the Russian Tsars. You will be taken on a guided tour of the Lower Park and the spectacular interior of the Grand Palace.

    This morning your will tranfer to Pushkin, a small town not too far from the city, before visiting Catherine’s Palace, famed for its stunning Amber Room and blue and white Baroque architecture. After lunch you'll be treated to a coach tour of the city, discovering some of St Petersburg's most incredible sights. The tour takes you to highlights including the Square of Arts, the Griboedov Canal, the Menshikov Palace and the Peter and Paul Fortress, giving you an unrivalled insight into this historic city.

    Back in the city this evening, you will be taken to see an unforgettable Russian folklore show at the Nikolaevsky Palace before enjoying dinner at the Dostoevsky Restaurant. Relax in your hotel for your final night in St Petersburg.
