Known for its diverse wildlife, the Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous in the world! Visit the spectacular Seronera area inside the park and see the migration of Wildebeest and Zebra in June or July. Enjoy game drives through the area as you search for the Big Five all year round and see fantastic lizards scuffle along the sandy terrain as the many astounding species of bird circle above your head. And if you visit after the rainy season you'll see the area transformed into a sea of blossoming wildflowers.

Lake Manyara National Park
This fantastic park surrounds a remarkable soda lake which attracts a substantial amount of birdlife. There are also many different habit types in the area which support the large number of animals that reside here. Whilst here, you’ll see remarkable tree climbing lions and an abundance of elephants as well as flocks of flamingos creating a perfect pink scene.

Tarangire National Park
This park is home to the Tarangire River where thousands of animals congregate every year. With strategically placed lodges, you are sure to catch a glimpse of the remarkable species that call this area home. Elephants can be seen here in herds of up to 600, along with many other animals who have migrated from the Maasai Steepe.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area
As this is the world’s largest unflooded volcanic caldera, many animals flock to this vast space. These include Black Rhinos, Hippos, Wildebeest and Zebras, plus Africa’s densest population of Crater Lions. The conservation area also protects Olduvai Gorge which contains one of the oldest discovered remains of the human genus.

Exploring More of Africa

A hippo family in the water

Africa is a huge, unique continent with borders which were drawn up thousands of years ago with little regard for cultural or physical boundaries. Thus, national parks and nature reserves often span more than one country. As Tanzania’s closest neighbour, Kenya often shares landmarks with Tanzania. Discover them by taking the longer Kenya and Tanzania Safari Holiday or explore even more of Africa on the Luxury Tanzania Safari and Zambezi River Cruise.

And There’s More!
