For an action-packed holiday, Zimbabwe is the perfect choice as there is a huge array of exciting attractions to visit. Located on the Zimbabwe-Zambia border, the Victoria Falls are a sight to behold! The Falls’ beautiful, 355ft curtain of water cascades seemingly endlessly into Lake Kariba, giving off a refreshing spray and creating a stunning sight.
Lake Kariba flows into the Zambezi River, eventually leading to one the best National Parks in Africa, Mana Pools. This Park boasts a vast biodiversity and consists of four main pools and several smaller ones alongside the river. These waterholes provide an excellent spot for wildlife viewing as animals congregate here to drink. Spreading over 950 square miles, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is especially popular with elephants, hippos and big cats such as the cheetah, leopard and lion.
In addition to Mana Pools, Zimbabwe is also home to Hwange National Park. This, the largest game reserve in the country, has one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. In particular, you will find many elephants and buffalos plus the largest gathering of gemsbok and Brown Hyena in a protected area. All profits made by both of these parks are filtered back into them, ensuring the greatest protection for the wildlife.
